To Our Chattanooga Red Wolves Soccer Family:
This Spring we found ourselves in unchartered and uncertain territorty. The safety of our players and staff has always been and will remain our absolute priority. While we want nothing more than to be back on the fields and playing the game we love, we must continue to adhere to state and local safety guidelines. These limitations have impacted the way we recently returned to training sessions and, reality is, without being able to evaluate how a player physically plays, our tryout process has also been impacted.
This year, the tryout and evaluation process must look different. We've had to make some tough decisions, but ultimately, we feel this is the safest and most logical path for our Academy to take.
RETURNING CRWA PLAYERS: You have all worked so hard over the past year and we want to keep working towards helping each of you become your best self, both on and off the field. Because your Spring season was cut short, we want you back for the 20/21 season.
What does this mean? It means, if you were a Red Wolf last year, you will be offered a spot as a Red Wolf this year.
In order to make up for lost training for our Spring teams, we will continue trainnig throughout the summer at no charge to any Red Wolves Academy player who was registered for the Spring '20 season. Training will follow state and local return to play guidelines which will continue to evolve over the next few weeks. A registration link will be sent to those applicable players.
NEW PLAYERS: We want to safely evaluate all new players as well. This process will begin with technical tryouts on June 8, 9, 10. If you have not registered yet, please do so HERE, as registration is required. This technical evaluation will follow all physical distancing guidelines. With limited numbers at the fields, we feel we can be more successful at keeping up with the many safety protocols. Offers to join the Red Wolves will be sent within 48 hours following this initial evaluation.
If there are multiple teams within your age group, you will first receive an age group offer and then you will continue to be evaluated over the summer. Team placement within the age group will then happen within one week after physical play is allowed. We want to get it right when matching you to a team and the only way to do that is to evaluate your physical play. This is important to us and we know it's important to you, too.
Again, we thank you for your patience and understanding. These decisions were not easy to make and we do not take our responsibily in doing so lightly. Your safety will always be our #1 priority.
Sincerely,
Your Chattanooga Red Wolves Academy Leadership Team
