Pre Academy

U5 - U8 Program
Tryout Registration Required: HERE

The Pre-Academy program was created to enhance the developmental process of youth soccer players all across the Chattanooga area, from ages 6 to 8 years old. We want players to problem solve, improvise, and make decisions on their own during practices and games. We also want players to play completely free with no fear of failure.

This program offers professional training as well as an experienced coaching staff that will assure that players are progressing and reaching their individual goals. Our focus in individual player development.

This is an age where relationships with teammates are beginning to emerge on the field and some initial basic tactical concepts are introduced like recognizing basic team shapes (triangles & diamonds). The most important part of the skill check is to help the child express creativity with the ball and experience joy through this process.

This is flexible program for your families convenience and you may attend any session throughout the week, at any location. Sessions are unlimited once you sign up so you may attend as often as you like.

Methodology - The 4 major themes of the Pre-Academy curriculum:

Ball Mastery

Using both feet and multiple surfaces encouraging players to experiment with all turns, skills, tricks to develop their technical confidence and composure on the ball.

Shapes and Support

Developing the idea of angles of support to the player on the ball giving players more options to keep possession of the ball rather than just “kicking it away”

Small-Sided Environments

High repetitions of 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and free play with each training session allowing players to experiment and maximize development through multiple contacts with the ball and also to create real game like scenarios.

Independent Player Thinking

We encourage the players to think for themselves and solve soccer problems with the skills acquired. Our coaches guide players to the answers by asking questions rather than telling them the answer. Creating independent thinkers who will play the game and solve soccer problems without the constant and manipulative instruction of a coach leading to longer term

information retention and higher levels of skill acquisition.
